My style blends postural & movement assessment into the treatment. This allows for the client and me to locate the underlying source of their pain, and empower them with the tools & knowledge to improve their posture, function and well-being.
Through my past experience working with both amateur and professional athletes as a personal trainer, I’m able to not only provide immediate relief for their current pain, but also suggest specific corrective exercises and strategies for them to add into their training to help prevent future injuries before they happen.
As someone who has dealt with chronic low back pain in the past, I know firsthand the incredible mental and physical relief that massage therapy has provided me over the years. The ability to give that same peace of mind to other people is why I love being a massage therapist.

Evidence based, pain focused practitioner identifying the cause of and/or dysfunction of the issue and works to correct it through aggressive and focused soft tissue work, acupuncture, exercise and adjustments. I focus a lot on trying to educate my patient’s about why they are in pain, which in itself helps so much in solving the problem.
Soft tissue focused treatments with a lot of hands on work with modalities and adjustments as an adjunct to the treatment.

The behind the scenes work at Massage Matters and treating patients in my private office POUT.
I love being a nurse because the skills I have acquired through nursing have made me a better business owner. Patient education combined with providing safe and effective patient care is a big part of nursing and those values are reflected through the treatments provided at Massage Matters. As a Registered Nurse working in the hospital I learned so much about organization, prioritization and providing a gentle bed side manner for patients, even when you are overloaded and stressed with a hectic work day. Organization and prioritizing are key for operating Massage Matters behind the scenes and although I don’t deal with patients at the bedside anymore, those skills have transferred over to the customer service aspect at Massage Matters.
Taytum is my favourite hobby! I feel so lucky to be a doggy mama to the most precious girl in the world. I also recently started Bikram Yoga and am excited to see where that journey takes me.
I have watched almost every episode of Dateline NBC and will probably be a crime scene detective in my next life.
